The Las Vegas Jaggi's: August 2011

Yep, the Jaggi family is growing. Welcome #3.

Matthew says to friends, "Mommy has a baby in her tummy. It is a present from Jesus!"

We are due in March - man that seems so soon. So much to do!

The Jaggi Family

The Vegas Jaggi's (pronounced Ya-ggee) just started a new chapter in our lives. October 2009 we moved to Oregon from Las Vegas. July 2010 we moved to Montana from Oregon. March 2011 we moved back to Las Vegas! What can I say, we like to move around - Ha! that IS a funny joke. I hate moving, but I will do it for my family and that wonderful husband of mine. Hopefully we can settle down in the sunny state of Nevada.

A little something about us -John and I met in Phoenix, Arizona at an Arizona Diamondbacks game. We became fast friends and 4 months later decided to date and then marry in the Portland, Oregon Temple. That was the best decision I have ever made. It has been 10 wonderful years with my best friend and now, 4 kids.

Books I am reading

FavenHaven Book 5 SO GOOD! Loved the whole series.
Brisinger by Chris P. I enjoyed the last 150 pages from a 700 page book.
The Undaunted by Gerald Lund. Good read, more about the ficitional characters than the Hole in the Rock history. I wish it was the other way around.
The Perfect Day by Richard Paul Evans. What a depressing book.
The Ladies Auxiliary by Tova Mirvis. Very Jewish, but interesting.
City of Thieves by David Benioff. It has some nasty language and adult conduct, but the story was something I am glad I read (WW2).
My Mother-in-law's journal from 1978-1984. Loved hearing about babies and her life.
Confessions of a Shopaholic - Sophie Kinsella. Such a dumb book, ask me why I read it - no clue.
These is my words by Nancy Turner. My favorite book and reading it for the second time now.
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins Book 2 of the Hunger Games -AWESOME!
Love comes softly by Janette Oke - volumes 1-8 Loved everyone. Sweet and wholesome! You will CRY!
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - soooo good!
Persuasion by Jane Austen -charming and witty. Loved it!
FavenHaven by Brandon Mull - and Book 2, 3, 4!
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Quotes I like.....

"The family is eternal. Love must be nurtured. It must be spoken. We must put away our pride, our haughtiness, our shyness, our misunderstandings, and with humility say, "I love you. Is there something I can do to help you?" You can never be completely happy under any other circumstances."

-Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"Think about your particular assignment at this time in your life. It may be to get an education, it may be to rear children, it may be to be a grandparent, it may be to care for an relieve the suffering of someone you love, it may be to do a job in the most excellent way possible, it may be to support someone who has a difficult assignment of their own. Our assignments are varied and they change from time to time. Don't take them lightly. Give them your full heart and energy. Do them with enthusiasm. Do whatever you have to do this week with your whole heart and soul. To do less than this will leave you with an empty feeling."

— Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"I know it is hard for you young mothers to believe that almost before you can turn around the children will be gone and you will be alone with your husband. You had better be sure you are developing the kind of love and friendship that will be delightful and enduring. Let the children learn from your attitude that he is important. Encourage him. Be kind. It is a rough world, and he, like everyone else, is fighting to survive. Be cheerful. Don't be a whiner."

— Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.

I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.

I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.

I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.

I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.

I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

— Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"Elder Neal A. Maxwell once said, "We are here in mortality, and the only way to go is through; there isn't any around!" I would add, the only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache."

— Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Try a little harder to be a little better.
